Hello,
I have a serious questions which I am hoping you could answer. I have an old friend that has had a Mercedes parked in his garage for the past 30 years. He gave me a little history on the car which I will try to explain. This guy is a pretty good friend of mine a would not try to smooth me over. This car was shipped (secretly) by boat into the U.S. by Francis Fordcarapolla (tried to spell hope you know who I'm talking about) for his personal use. Why am I interested in this car? He says its a 1958 SL200 its a hardtop. I have NEVER seen an SL200 and supposedly the first year of the fuel injection. Have you ever heard of an SL200? I have been trying to research this with no luck so far. If so, what would be the value? It's all original! Beautiful car, like I said it sit in a garage to this day. Any help and a response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

According to my data, the 190SL, Chassis W121, was produced from 1955 to 1963. I believe the next engine upgrade for the W121 SL was the 220. I haven't seen any listing for a 200 but I'll check the German sites. ...RAB [:)]

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy . . .
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
I believe Mr. Brown succumbed almost 5 years ago to a myocardial infarction brought on by discovering the true value of the car...and malachiman did likewise.

Ahh yes, a horrible circumstance indeed. Turns out it was a 1972 AMC Gremlin outfitted with a knockoff AMG body kit. Both commited suicide upon discovery and shortly thereafter, Francis Fordcarapolla died of a heroin and Cheez Whiz overdose in his Beverly Hills chateau leaving six children and a three legged gnu.

Took my SLK32 into the dealer I bought it from for a warranty repair. Young female service writer looked at it and said I added the AMG badge and that it was a 320. Told her no. She did not believe. Another advisor finally let her in on it.
A few months later I brought my S430 in for more warranty stuff. Got her again. I told her it was a diesel. She remarked how quiet it was.
