Already a proud owner of a 230CLK I am looking at buying a W107 350SL from the first production in 1971. The car is in very good condition but the seller wants 50 000PLN ( approx $ 23 500 ) As I have very little experience with this model is there someone out there that can tell me if this is a good deal or not?? I can't seem to find much info out there. Please bear in mind that I'm in Warsaw,Poland and prices might not be comparable to those in the US.
If thats what they are selling for over there.... figure out the shipping and you can have mine! (much to my wifes distress) Mine is a euro car anyway! I drive it all the time (65,5oo mi). I can send you pictures (red)! I've never seen another '71 here (in person) but I have seen a few '72 and $13k-$17k seems to be the price for a real nice one. Any idea what it costs to import from the USA?
FYI: I was at a car show on Tuesday and parked next to a '84 500sl (euro). I was amazed that you hardly tell the (2) cars apart. Almost every part on my car was the same on his (except for the interior). So I would suggest looking at the other models as well if you like the body style. If you buy mine.... I'll buy his!
