I am a SLR Club member and this weekend a few of us were invited to a very special meeting at the Mclaren Technology Centre in Woking England.
It was great to see the workings of the factory, the meticulous way they put the cars together, the technology and the excellence they strive towards when producing the car, however all this apart we were there for a very special event.
With Fernando Alonso Driving and Hamilton Lewis in the passenger seat, in came the new SLR ROADSTER. Fully working and production ready.
No rumour, no maybe, the actual car. We were under strict instructions as to a no photo rule, however!!!!
The car looks amazing, doors are as per the coupe, roof is a new material (fabric) which will allow you to drive at full speed roof up or down. A few changes on the inside, a few on the outside, altogether a fantastic car.
Ordered mine, I have a July build with a September delivery, to coincide with the world launch at the Frankfurt motor show.
Believe guys, this will blow anything away! The SLR Roadster Rocks. |
