Yes, that is about the second time those pictures have been posted. That is where Mercedes got the SLR idea from[:)]

It actually "was" an '88 500SEC
for more details go to 126 forum, search slr and find link to (i think it was a) vw forum which holds loads of pictures / info on the car.

why are VWs the base for any conversion? Most kit cars are based off of some sort of VW. I don't get it.

Ummm, the panel fit is better than McLaren achieve with the orignal.

I believe this is the fourth time I have seen this, but MarkAMG is still fairly new, so this may be the first time he has come across it.
