I am buying mine (take delivery of a 2004 C240 on Friday) for comfort. For the past 25 years I have been driving basic transportation (my latest was a Dodge Neon w/o Air or anything), and I figured it was time for a change.

i owned a 61 190sl and drove it for a year or so before trading it in on a "family car". i can't afford to buy another one, so i bought a 560sl thinking it might take the place of the greatest little car ever. it doesn't.

I'm on my third AMG C class. I liked them better when nobody knew what they were. But the C63 is hard to beat. 4 doors are a total wolf in sheep's clothing.

All used and refurbished ones

The Turbodiesel wagen was bought from a guy at church who offered it to us cheap when my husband was bragging about the 240D he got by combining one on its way to the crusher (junqueyard of course) with one that was offered to us by a scrap metal dealer who was hauling junk from our yard. A silver one had been parked behind a house for years and we asked about it. The original one was bought at a barbershop where it was parked with a for sale sign on it. The 115's were abandoned at a repair shop and offered to us because they knew us. They are out there, you just have to be lucky, and NICE to people.

I am on my second 76. First was 450 SEL and current is 450 SE. The current one is being restored and is not yet running. I felt so safe in my last one. I called it my full metal jacket. Not only did it have some guns in the engine but it was HEAVY. You could just feel it sticking to the ground. I liked that. I dream of owning a model from the 60's, something black, that perhaps drove a diplomat around.

I bought my S320 (W140) because it is a real tank! Solid as a bullet-proof limo Plus who could pass up the opprtunity to roll in S-Class, the same cars that persidents not only of huge companies, but entire countries travel! Nothing beats the size, quietness and comfort of this vehicle.. not to mention the saftey features are way beyond their years! Hard to belive its a 1994 model when it drives better most of these new lttle benz`s on the road.. W140 - KING OF THE ROAD lol

I bought my c230k for quality and reliability. In the last 2 years of ownership I havent had any issues..... well except:

1. It eats coolant constantly, ie head gasket problem- this is exciting.
2. My fancy key fob doesn't unlock/ lock my doors- have to use the metal valet key- very convenient.
3. A couple climate flap links/ actuators failing- good news.
4. Increasing rattle noise from the engine- probably the AC or pulley failing- that'll be fun to fix when it finally fails.
5. Numerouse bulbs burning out
6. Front turn signal failed, burned out contacts- good times.
7. Sway bar bushings replaced
8. Front control arms replaced

So high quality and upscale. I'm just waiting for the next thing to fail. Maybe the fancy pano roof will break that I hear so much of or my transmission will one day just fall apart. Or my 6 CD changer will jam (again!) or power windows will stop working. At this point, I dont think anything else failing is out of the question.

Here's an option...save your money- by another, and use all that extra cash to by your spouse (or yourself or kids )something real nice or take a long vacation somewhere warm.

Overall, I kinda like my car, maybe only about a 60/40 split at best- and it's fun to drive but it comes with significant disappointments.
