This is easy..."OTHER":
Some of the best and hottest looking cars are the road. I just love the looks of my 09 E350 Sport, seems others do too:
And the 07 C230 Sport was nice too:
The c230 should have only been sold with the c350 engine but first time buyers like myself probably would have felt it was too expensive. If I wound the engine up it would go though. Would I like the E550..well sure...but my E350 can be scary fast, more then enough to see blue lights, and also during my little 20 mile commute I enjoy seeing over 28 miles per gallon (yes conservative driving). After my 12 hour days at work I get in my car and feel wrapped in comfort and luxury, I am always torn between just cruising in luxury or driving fast and hard, some days I just do both
. Would be nice to be able to drive 110mph on the highway, this car is SO designed for it...but as you know on the East coast there is no place that allows that.
Really don't care what others think, the prestige is for myself, after a 70 hour week I'm not so pissed they are working me to death, I just look at my Whip and know at least something nice comes from it. My girl looks good in it too and really enjoys the command center...we crank the ipod up (after a night on the town) so loud and the sound still never cracks up, best system yet.
Ya this was important, I wanted a bigger car that offered good gas mileage, great performance, and more comfort then my C class. The E350 may only have an overall 'A' rating for side impact, but I know driving 3800lb car is always better.
I would say yes...I usually own a car for two years and sell them between the 25k and 35k mileage mark. This leave some warrenty and I can still get top dollar cause they are like new. When I got my E350 six months ago they were having great deals, I got 12k off from the factory, 2k more because the service rep had driven it 6k miles, and then about another 1k off because I played my dealer off another in town. Not a bad discount for a 57k car. I actually went in looking for an 07, I probably wouldn't have been happy, never clean enough for my standards and also I like new paint so i can keep it that way. See I always wanted to get into a BMW before I was 50 (without car payments) I always pay cash after selling or trading my existing car. I never thought I would buy a Mercedes, never even stopped at the dealership, just figured they were too expensive, but when the time came to sell my 05 Acura TSX I stopped in one night after closing and saw the C230s, they had them marked down cause they had too much inventory and the new C's were arriving, two days later I drove off the lot with my first Benz...29k out the door new...been hooked since, think my next might be a CLS.
So anyway in a nutshell, I wanted a beautiful, bigger, most comfortable car on the planet, with plenty of power, safety, good gas mileage, and nimble enough to enjoy some spirited driving now and then
...all the toys are great also.
Oh and one more thing, these cars are easy to work on so far, no reason at all to go to the stealer for most maintenance. I just love that I can change my oil right in my garage without a drop getting on the floor.
Sun just came out on this nice Thanksgiving day in Charlotte NC, think I'll go clean my Whip up and then sit down for a nice hot meal.
