Garage
well, my family has driven nothing but Mercedes, mainly my grandmother. she's had a 450SE, 300D, 260E (mine now XD ), E420, C240, and a C230. she ordered a black C300 luxury in january and were picking it up this weekend. I cant imange driving anything else. I bought (wel... was given) a Mercedes because nothing else drives like it on the road, and just the solidness, and that feeling you get from driving a Merc makes everything else... undriveable. Also, I think Lexus owners are insane... sorry.

Since my teens back in the 80s I've been into America's finest muscle/sports car classics such as the earlier Ford Mustangs and Corvettes, particularily the 70' Boss 429 Fastback and the 63' Split-window Stingray, I've never really looked the other way into euro cars let alone own a Mercedes. That was until last year my brother (a.k.a. Bondavi on this site) convinced me into purchasing a classic sports car I'd never dreamt owning one which turns out to be a 1984 Euro 500SEC AMG. Currently non-operational and sitting in my garage I'm currently in the process of restoring it with a rebuilt M117 engine equipped with genuine AMG parts and getting this screaming beast back on the road again. Since then I've developed an interest in the fascinating history and legacy of Mercedes-Benz and look forward to the full restoration of my very own Benz.

Went shopping at CarMax, sister pointed out that "there's this Mercedes over there for 14, wanna check it out?" Turned out to be a '00 E55 AMG. Soon as I saw the AMG badge on the trunk lid that's all she wrote. Too bad I won't be able to drive it for another 6 weeks waiting for my broken leg to heal, but it'll be worth it.

I owned a 1957 220S 40 years ago..it had done a complete rollover..even the roof..I slowly replaced all panels (except the roof) and interior, engine, gearbox (Hydrac)..then sold it as I was posted overseas...never got another MB till two weeks ago this 1990 300 SEL was advertised and I was hooked..the USS Enterprise I call it (Her?)...just fits in the garage with my Fairmont which I gave to my wife and she sold her 1989 Laser!!!..going to Yarrawonga in style now.

Because it was my dream car. Carried a picture of it in my planner for 7 years. One day stopped at the dealership because it was parked close to the street. Price was within reach and I have "earned" it. You have to have goals, when you reach them, you must have rewards.
