for me it was always about build quality and brand but with a two tear system

New Merc's Esp vans ( Vito ) I hate with such pashion I will never while I have an drop of red blood in me buy another one.. they are shocking and cost me a fortune!!!

Old propper built Merc's are great and i have total respect for these..

mind you I own Porsches as well 3 of them again you will not find me buying a new Porsche as the engine problems have still not been addressed and I find it shocking that both car makers just keep churning problems cars out an making us pay for their research and developement!!!!!!!

Sorry but it's true!!

" Fastly losing faith in Mercedes So called build quality.... " Spanish built Mercedes Vito's ......shocking lost lots of ££$$

Stick with Classic propper German built Merc's 1960's

We have had 2 Mercs in the past and the a N-Reg C280 Sport in Black being the previous one which was fantastic and very very reliable which we got about 140k out of .We sold it as we needed a 7 seater vehicle for our family as my baby brother was born so we looked around for a 7 seater for a long time, a good 5-6 months as we wanted a good vehicle, something nice, something elegant, something big. We thought of getting a Galaxy, then a Chryslerm then an Picasso "But I hate those 'vans'!" I said to my dad, lol So I thought "Hang on, ML's come in an option of 7 seats and it's a Mercedes so that might be a good car."
We started searching around the whole country until we found one. We had to travel 250 odd miles to collect it but it was the best car on the market found on Auto Trader. If you look on my sig below you can see the specification of the car and the factory fitted extras it had. When it was first brought, it cost the previous owner who was the only owner of the car a whooping £70k! We purchased it for a lot less but was still slightly over budget but the amount it has is just astonishing and my favourite being the Bose system and the main thing was that it had 7 seats and it was a Mercedes.

Thats why we purchased it. Long story lol. :P

Pictures of it are here on My Mercedes Benz ML430 Gallery

Like the car commercial says....

"When you get in your car and turn it on...Does it do the same for you?"

YES!!!!!

Driven many cars and trucks for many years...this is the first one to get this kind of attention...especially from the ladies!!

Gotta love it!

When I was raised in HongKong China back in the 60's. My rich grand uncle has an 190D with a chauffer. It is an image of success in a young boys mine. But Porsche is a rich kids' toy and every girls will turn her head. This is still true today in asia and brasil or may be other parts of the world too. Asian do not like Japan made because quality is always behind German's durability if they can afford it. In 79 I bought Audi 5000 new, never buy another Audi. Replace in 84 with new 500SEC, very good car turn everyone head. 86 bought Porsche 928GT, very comfortable coupe. Ever you ride in MB for comfort, it is the best for anything below $95K. Ever race in Porsche for fun of driving, nothing come close for $95K. These are the cars everyone wants but not everyone can have. Enjoy life of driving in both of the world's best German mfg. One thread, looking for the new Porsche sedan coming in 2009 or later, they just took over WV Group in the driver seat for future development in super lux. sedan. Porsche 997 is very solid and reliability car. Zero service problem for last 23K I drove similar to the last year W210.265 I bought for my wife except it rides with sport performance. Porsche 997 has 10x less problem than my 928GT. That is the kind of improvement I wish to come from MB in the future. You can see how the new Porsche SUV beat up the MB or the BMW SUV and become the king of the SUV MKT and none of the Land rover or the Lexus Landcruser can come close. New technology and reliability is the future for any car maker of the world.

500SEC 1984 retired at 192K
Porsche 928S GT 1984 (euro) retired at 243K

Just buy one from California. Since the Canadian dollar is doing better then before and with the E500E's prices on the rise the time to get one at a reasonable price might disappear faster then most think and a lot of them are for sale nowadays.
