When I was raised in HongKong China back in the 60's. My rich grand uncle has an 190D with a chauffer. It is an image of success in a young boys mine. But Porsche is a rich kids' toy and every girls will turn her head. This is still true today in asia and brasil or may be other parts of the world too. Asian do not like Japan made because quality is always behind German's durability if they can afford it. In 79 I bought Audi 5000 new, never buy another Audi. Replace in 84 with new 500SEC, very good car turn everyone head. 86 bought Porsche 928GT, very comfortable coupe. Ever you ride in MB for comfort, it is the best for anything below $95K. Ever race in Porsche for fun of driving, nothing come close for $95K. These are the cars everyone wants but not everyone can have. Enjoy life of driving in both of the world's best German mfg. One thread, looking for the new Porsche sedan coming in 2009 or later, they just took over WV Group in the driver seat for future development in super lux. sedan. Porsche 997 is very solid and reliability car. Zero service problem for last 23K I drove similar to the last year W210.265 I bought for my wife except it rides with sport performance. Porsche 997 has 10x less problem than my 928GT. That is the kind of improvement I wish to come from MB in the future. You can see how the new Porsche SUV beat up the MB or the BMW SUV and become the king of the SUV MKT and none of the Land rover or the Lexus Landcruser can come close. New technology and reliability is the future for any car maker of the world.
