VALUE. My 1996 S320 which I recently purchased is good looking, comfortable, roomy, quiet, safe, luxurious, reliable, and CHEAP. Anyone who says it isn't CHEAP isn't comparing it with a car that is comparably good looking, comfortable, roomy, quiet, safe, luxurious, and reliable.
My first MB. When I saw my 91 560sec I knew then that I had to have it. Though the car is 17yrs. old I get plenty of stares and the performance is WOW!! The Benz is simple but elegant in style, what more could you ask for except a Euro.
I was stationed overseas and i came home (US) and everyone was talking about "bubble eyes" i was like what is that? I saw what it was and just fell in love with the clk's ever since!!!!

My family had a bad history with North American Cars (except my dad's '99 Caprice Classic). In 1988 they bought the first ever Nissan Pathfinder and we got hooked on Import Cars. My parents are both Toyota and when I bought my first new car after college in 2003 I bought an Acura (couldn't afford more).
Now with a new job, and much more income and the redesign of the C300, I dove right in and will most likely never look back. I drove Lexus IS250, Infinity G35, Audi A4 and I felt the overall package (especially the CDN sport pacakge). I just can't wait for my new MB next time..SLK I hope.

The cars that always caught my attention as a teenager (early seventies) were the Mercedes diesels. It didn't take but 30 years for me to get one. My 2006 E320 CDI is everything I thought it would be and then some! The E320 is our #3 vehicle and is only driven occasionally. Most of the time the car sits in a heated garage with a car cover and only has 3100 miles. Ed B

I like the ride - and zoom factor - almost as well as I liked my 240Z and 280Z, but the creature comfort is key. I drive pretty conservatively unless an interesting bend presents itself, and then the Kompressor takes over my soul.
(BTW, the model year says '98, but when I bought it in '03, it was in mint condition with 1,200 miles on it. So it's sort of an '00¾.)
I wanted a Roadster, something that would be dependable and sporty and would last for years, perhaps even become a classic. I reasearched the cars on offer and decided that the R170 was the one for me. It looks fantastic. It's so comfortable to drive you can use it every day. It's quick but not excessively fast (important in a Roadster) and not too thirsty.
