I was on the heels of a two week car search. The wife had abandoned me and said come back when i found what i wanted. I went to the dealer looking for an infinity g35 coupe that was advertised on their website. Upon my arrival i was dismayed to find out that the infinity was a sedan and was listed wrong... On my way out the door i saw the benz... a white 2003 clk320 cabriolet with a black top, black interior, 19" vossen wheels, and a price tag that was amazing for this car with only 68000 miles. $10,500.... i went back in and told them i had cash and was ready to buy if i could get a deal. they offered it to me for $9000 out the door (tax title and license included). I handed them the cash and 30 minutes of paperwork later i had my first mb... next up is a clk55 or an sl500... im always shopping
The method in which I purchased my MB is practically the same as you!
I went to the dealer to try out a g35 as well. The car was in bad shape and didn't hold the road too well. I spoke with the dealer and told him I hated the car! He said that we should go inside the huge showroom and talk more about "my needs!". Then I spotted her at the far end of the showroom. I asked the salesman what kinda car is the white one I see over there?
He stated that it was just put in the showroom earlier that morning.
I checked out the car and fell in love. 5 seconds after I checked out the car I told him, "yep, I'll take this one"!. They did not seem very interested in selling me the car because they were using it as a show car to give a demonstration to customers that all they sold were certified cars.
I told him "I'll take it"!
I never thought I would buy a MB because I always thought that either they were out of my price range or that I didn't "fit" into one.
20 minutes later the doc's were filled out. I purchased the car. Picked it up a day later as they had to install leather protectant.
When I drove off the lot and headed home, I was flabbergasted at how many people were looking at my car. I must say that it sure did boost my ego!
I am not narcissistic nor do I take pleasure or compare to other people but if driving a Mercedes gives me all those perks well I'll take it!
Hope you enjoy your ride and best of luck for the future
