When I was in my 20's, I kept seeing a pearlescent (not sure whether it actually existed or not; perhaps was more of a unicorn....?) late 1980's 560SL driving around my home city with a middle aged woman at the wheel (top down, of course!), and that was when I decided I was going to get me one of those.....of course, totally unaffordable for me, until about 2 years ago. l looked and looked for that pearl-coloured 560 for about a year, while researching and looking at all the 560's, 380's, and 450's in my area....including the US (l'm near Vancouver, BC). l was seriously considering a 1987 560 SL in fantastic condition, when I was convinced by a friend two years ago to test drive a used 2002 32SLK AMG (all black), and I was hooked (yup, for all you guys out there, I'm now that middle aged woman). It goes fast, it has a great sound system, heated seats, and the hard top goes into the trunk with a push of a button. I will never let that one go, and I am getting a little snouwty at the 230slk's driving around (they seem to all be grey....not silver, in my opinion...). In any case, have been driving my 32SLK for two years and no trouble; knock on wood.....and I still like it better in terms of looks when I compare it to the post 2005's where the hood looks like it's "nose" got out of control....

I bought my 1991 300SE because I have had 3 w126 chassis cars from 1994 on and I think the 126 was one of the best passenger cars ever made. I have always enjoyed driving it/them.

I bought my E190 for my daughters first car. Not only is the gas mileage good but the car is solid in general. I feel good knowing my daughter is driving this German steel car.

After a terrible and u explaining accident in my Accord 6 weeks ago (I was pulled unconscious from my burning car after crashing) I took my time and found a 99 E320 in truly PRISTINE condition, both in appearance and the fact it drove like new, even with close to 200K miles

This is the first car I've had that I double-take when I see in my garage, and I love it a little more every day and/or every drive...whichever comes first. =D

My 1983 380SL was bought new by my pops. He handed it over to me around 1999-2000 and now I take care of maintaining it. Love the car and wouldn't trade it for a new Benz even if they offered it to me free. They don't make them like they use to.
Every now and then, I get compliments from random people whenever I take it for a spin.

I got my first Mercedes (W114) nearly 25 years ago. I looked at it because it was so nice but bought it because it was so comfortable. I was amazed that I could move the driver's seat back so far that I couldn't even touch the pedals... and I'm 6'4"... I've never been in a car before or since that could really fit tall drivers like that. I've known other tall people who swear by Mercedes for the same reason. Had that car 3-4 years and at over 200k it started to smoke a lot, didn't care to fix it at the time so I sold to an enthusiast.

Alas I did not manage to get another Mercedes until a few weeks ago, now have a W210. While it is not as cavernous inside as my W114 (we had 8 people in that car once), still fits me well and very nice to drive.

Thumbs up

I was looking at vans. For work and play.

Had a budget of approx $10,000 AUS.

Everything in that price bracket here is deadset boring and common.

A mate had an old 2000 Vito 638 that just needed a $100 helicoil done to an injector clamp bolt...

I paid him 2000 for it accepting all risk.

Sooo...I am into the rebuild at approx $13,000 now Motor was terminal, clutch fried, all injectors were binned...blah blah blah.

Haha. It still makes me smile when I look at it. Not far to go now.

Around here there is a reason why the other make and model vans are so common and boring. You can work out why. Lol

I've wanted one since the 6.9 was a brand new car. I finally got one! It's for me,
I'm German and I look good in it! It's the best looking full size car on the road period!
