My wife spent all the money I thought I had put by, so the used Jag XKR I wanted wasn't on the cards. She more or less insisted on a convertible if I bought a "sports" car, so with the money available a 2008 CLK350 with 78,000 on the clock was the least worst option. Oh well, at least it's not a Mustang.

If you're serious here , get rid of it as soon as possible before it makes you hate Mercedes products forevermore.

I'll just give it to her when I accrue the funds for the Jag.

I bought my current Mercedes & the two previous because I have a thing for Diesels & an SUV or a ute(pick-up) don't suit me so it was either Mercedes or Puegeot & if I had bought a Puegeot it'd have fallen apart by now.

A little different. I owned only domestic autos, mainly GM, for 42 years. In all those years, I got only one of those cars over 135,000 miles before it fell apart. I always read about the longevity of MB and wanted to see it for myself. I wanted a smaller car and really liked the style and comfort of the C230, but didn't want to invest in a new one having never owned an MB. I found a two year old 2006 CPO with only 15,000 miles miles on it. Love the car, the handling, the safety, and even the mileage although the performance is a little anemic for my tastes. I'm over 100,000 now of my own miles and had only a crankcase sensor and oil level sensor replaced over the years (under warranty). My goal is 200,000 miles with no major repairs. We'll see.

S55 AMG for this exact reason. People look down their nose at the long hair and laid back attitude. Loud music coming from an S class while blasting down the highway. LOVE IT

First Time MB Owner

This is my first MB.
I have owned a Volvo, a couple of Honda's, and lots of Ford products. I have driven a number of Ford products well over 200 K miles without major failure. I had set a max price of $35 K for my next vehicle.
Have rented some 300's recently and thought I wanted one. Test drove a new Ford Explorer, liking it too.
Had always told myself, that I should drive a MB when test driving for my next car. In all my driving years, I have had two people try to convince me to consider a Benz.
Stopped at a dealer, drove three vehicles. Two sedans, and one SUV. Liked the E 350, and was surprised I could afford a CPO low mileage MB.

Went home, searched the internet for information, and next day I purchased mine.
I am in what I call my years of maturity. This is a very nice looking, comfortable riding, decent performing, safe, and acceptable MPG ride.
I commute a lot of miles. This is my DD. I am looking forward to seeing how the quality and service holds up compared to my previous vehicle results.
Only time will tell.
