Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet Limited to Just 300 Units

If youíre in the market for an ultra-luxury vehicle and canít bear the thought of living without a convertible top youíve got to check this out, itís the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet.

Based off a 'run-of-the-mill' S-Class convertible, this stunning red cruise missile was just revealed here in L.A. Yes, itís a production model and no, you probably canít have one. Production is capped at just 300 units, 75 of which will be making their way to the U.S.

Differentiating it from the model itís based on, this Maybach gains a unique front bumper, special fender emblems, gorgeous 20-inch forged wheels and unique entrance lighting. Three different themes will be offered in the U.S., each one with different color combinations and materials.

Inside there are hectares of hand-finished leather and seating for up to four people. Thereís also special '1 of 300' lettering on the cup holder and steering wheel to remind you of just how exclusive this car is.

But if all of that werenít enough, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet also comes with bespoke luggage, including two large travel bags and duet lifestyle totes. And yes, these items are numbered as well.

Power is provided by a V12 engine displacing a healthy 6.0-liters. With twin turbochargers multiplying atmosphere, it delivers 621 horses and 738 lb-ft of twist.

Torque is dispatched to the rear wheels through a somewhat antiquated seven-speed automatictransmission. An Airmatic suspension system with variable damping should provide a silky-smooth ride without sacrificing handling performance.

Further enhancing the exclusivity of this first-ever Mercedes-Maybach drop-top, each example comes with a special embroidered car cover plus a welcome pack including a numbered keyring and a certificate signed by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, yeah, him, the Chairman of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Naturally, fuel economy, pricing and availability information regarding the new Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is not available yet.
