has just announced a new ’507 Edition’ version of its C63 AMG model with, you guessed it, 507 horsepower.
Adapting engine internals from the SLS, including forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankchaft, output of the 6.2-liter V8 engine has been increases 56 hp while torque rises to a total of 450 lb-ft. Shaving three tenths of a second of the car’s 0-60 time, it can now hit the mark in just 4.1 seconds.
Slowing from speed is easier now too thanks to a special AMG brake setup with bright red calipers.
Easily distinguishable from its stablemates, the Edition 507 model gains the same vented hood from the Black Series model with custom 19-inch wheels available either in a titanium grey or matte black with a polished lip. Finally, details like the trunk lid spoiler, mirrors and other details are painted in a high-gloss black paint, while the body can be ordered in a designo magno platinum matte paint (shown).
Interior details include custom leather and Alcantara finishes, as well as an Alcantara-coated AMG Performance steering wheel, while the shifter for the 7-speed automatic transmission gains a special AMG badge.
“The C 63 AMG with the classic AMG 6.3-litre high-revving V8 naturally aspirated engine is one of the most popular AMG high-performance cars in the world,” said Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG. “With the new C 63 AMG “Edition 507″, we are offering our loyal customers an attractive model variant which boasts even higher performance and at the same time is visually exciting.”
On sale this summer as both a sedan and coupe (also as a wagon in Europe), all “Edition 507″ models will come with a special voucher for driver development at the AMG Driving Academy.
Look for the newest Mercedes to make its world premier at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
