One moment it's a cruising luxury car,, and in the matter of a flash it turns into an all out Muscle Hot rod...

Yes! And the front is right out of a Lexus 4WD. The sides sweep too high in the rear for me, probably gives it a great Cd, but it just is not a winning shape as far as I can see.

MB; We deserve better. Please.

I'd love to give you a few pointers as much as almost anybody I suppose.

Regards, Inspector.

Is it just me, or is Mercedes-benz now copying a lot of design schemes from other manufacturers? I can't help but notice they switched from the classic rounded headlights to the more common squared lights in all new models. Terrible idea in my opinion... I miss the classic Mercedes look. Just another reason I'll have my C class coupe for many years.

Yes, new car prices are not for everybody.
C'mon, with late day creativity, this car rocks.

Post progrEss?

How about the 0.24 coefficient. The lines are slick, though I wish to get my 6'4 in before passing sentence. What I'm more concerned, looking at the E550 standards, is about what is difficult to control (mod) by the user.

The biggest bone I'd pick is the lack of a decent active spoiler to add stability, "a la whale", in the high speed ranges (specially when the factory speed limit is removed). 382 ponies are quite a few to fool around, and they can be converted in over 200 mph.

The front and the lights, whoever does not like them (I'm not crazy about it as it relates to German Engineering and Creativity) can change them easy enough.

Stuttgart should consider the comments of dislike and get into promotional prices to overcome the goofs up. I'm sure Original Low Prices can move mountains.

Cheers and happy motoring, JV

PS: Herr Dr. Z: Don't forget Argentina for the Promotional Prices in July.

I agree with Marsden about the B pillar, where did that come from? One fairly unique aspect of the CLK design was the lack of pillars and the ability to lower all four windows. that looks like an engineering solution to a problem, like the rear seat doesnt line up with the C pillar or something, so lets wack a little window in.

Agree with eth lexus front end comments and the rear light/camry comments.

I'll be keeping my CLK for a while now.

I sat in the new E-Class coupe at the dealer and it was very well done and comfortable too. To say the least I think it was great and can not wait to take a test drive. It may very well be my first car One can only hope though!
