Officially Official: Mercedes-Benz CLS gets new look
Mercedes-Benz has released official information detailing the evolution changes made to its pioneering four-door coupe, the CLS. While mostly subtle, the exterior enhancements combine to soften the look of the car's exterior a bit. The grille now features two bars instead of four, the sideview mirrors are 32% larger and feature integrated turn signals that look like arrows when blinking, and the rear of the car gets new LED taillights, a redesigned rear apron and twin trapezoidal tailpipes. New wheels are also available in 17-inch and 18-inch diameters. Overall, enough has been changed for the discerning eye to notice, but Mercedes thankfully left this car's sexy silhouette untouched.

I think the "arrows" for turning is rather childish & won't last long.It just seems to me unsophisticated/tacky. If you need arrows to re-confirm what you're seeing, maybe you shouldn't be driving in the first place? Maybe it'll reduce a few accidents but personally I wouldn't want the arrow-signals on my own MB.Larger mirrors good. Grill change reflects the simpler, more direct 'message" MB wants to project. Other changes seem ok,too. I think the best assessment needs to come from seeing it in the flesh re lines & if all the subtleties add up to a great "whole". And who knows, maybe...just maybe some of us might be able to accept the cutesy arrows...
Agreed, the arrows are a bit tacky. And the trapezoidal tailpipes look lifted from Acura. I expect that tailpipes will all be trapezoidal then someone will return the the "classic" round one day and be thought radical-retro. Just like happened with headlights (which are now going back to trapezoidal or worse)--in fact the headlight shape is one thing I wish they DID change on the CLS.
Still, remains a stunning design and I dig all the mesh up front

I rented a GM car once that had the arrows on the mirrors, I can't stand them. When your turning it distracts your eye from the road. It is really bad at night trying to turn and corner with bright lights flashing in your eye.

the CLS stills kicks the CL in the balls with lead shoes.
eh? In what respect?
I mean, the CLS is a fine automobile and the styling is sexy but in what other respect does a CLS every "kick" the CL in the balls... I have driven both and dont get your comment....
