With Mercedes-Benz having revamped the C-Class this year and reports of a new E-Class due next year, the CLK is due the year after. The first spy shots of the new coupe have surfaced and it looks like it will be inheriting some styling cues from the new C including a grille and headlight shape like the Sport version of the sedan.
The siamesed round headlights are definitely history and the cut line of the hood has moved from the top surface to the side of the fender, making a continuous line from nose to at at least the back edge of the side glass. It looks like the front edge of the hood is also a bit taller, probably to meet the latest Euro pedestrian safety standard.

I have to believe the references on the internet are to MODEL YEAR 2009, not calendar year 2009. This new CLK should be on display at the Geneva show in March 2008, and available summer/fall 2008, just like the new "2008" C-class was introduced and put on the market this year. After all, the CLK is based on the new C-class and has been "in testing" for quite some time. It's clear that Mercedes is not going to "refresh" the 209 model to buy time, or they would have done it by now. Plus the new BMW 3-series and the Audi S5 are now out there as competition for this market. My bet is mid-2008 for model year 2009 CLK. At least I'm hoping for that as I'm still driving my 2001 CLK 430 cabrio!
The Front is nice but the trunk lid remidns me of a beamer, and those lights.....just do not fit at all, lool like some alien proboscis

Perfect timing, I was looking to upgrade to the CLK 550 Cabrio (more space) but I am not thrilled about the looks. I am hoping the new CLK has a more aggressive/sporty look. The looks of the CLK was one of the main reasons I went with the SLK350.
