Gearbox would add 5.

I am pretty damn sick of these penalties.
Announcers and sportswriters have considered the FIA to be obtuse to have penalties like that while at the same time asking teams to keep pushing the envelope in the world's most technical form of racing.

+ 1. The FIA would only have to loosen fuel restrictions. Possible reliability issues aside, existing engines are capable of producing more than 1000 hp.
Even though the present Mercedes engine is said to be at 900hp
For 2007 the proposal is to increase the fuel allowance from 100KG / hour to 105, so races are not reduced to 'fuel saving events' according to one team tech head.
As if they not already are.

The world championship leader will start at the back of the field in the Belgian Grand Prix due to a 55-place penalty he has received for taking three fresh power units this weekend.

I saw that and David Hobbs said it is even sillier than the 35 place penalty on of the Red Bulls got last year or the year before.

It is absolutely ridiculous.

I saw that and I don't what I would do. The car has to pace to get well up into the points, but a win is not probable. Pit lane is the safer bet to avoid carnage from the last spot.

The tire issue is really going to make the race interesting.

Was interested in how they explained that Lewis has 3 engines now for the rest of the year and the penalties are being levied on the Spa race. As he said he can push harder now, and use more allowance laps for things like practicing full load fuel runs.
It will be an interesting final 10 races.
