Ricciardo got screwed, that was his race win.
How could they not have the tires ready after calling Ricciardo to pit.
The words inexcusable and unacceptable come to mind.

2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco

Another Monaco snatched from a driver due to a pit stop error. The Mercedes last year was bad but this one took it to a whole new level. Major communication error in the garage. Drive of the day goes to Perez, what a job he and his team did.

Btw was Rosberg completely out of it mentally?? Terrible race and getting passed by Hulk on the start finish straight with the checkered flag waving is unacceptable. I think it's going to be a battle until the end and those 2 points might come back to bite him in the ass at the end.

Mercedes aren't for people who want to have one, it's for people who can have one.

That really was amazing.

So much carnage took place. I know the street course there is tight and the wet is going to create problems, but we saw a lot of wrecks from the best drivers in the world just pushing to hard and not being patient. When Marcus Ericsson stuffed Nasr just one turn before Nasr was going to pull over and let him by it sort of showed the trend of the day.

Perez did a great job. The Red Bull pit crew is not getting cake for desert.

According to Rosberg, he couldn't get any temperature in the tires, and at the end had no tires left.

That must be why he had to lay back and let his brakes cool down.

My other WTF moment was when Kimi forced has car through the tunnel with it pinned under the left front tire.
Grosjean is not going to be sending him a Christmas card this year.

In a German post race interview Rosberg looked baffled, and said it felt like driving on egg shells.
Lewis put in a great drive.

Lewis was absolutely inch perfect. I did Nico's post race interview and baffled is the perfect word.

I watched it on the DVR on NBC sports and Hobbs said even in the dry it really does show what a driver has and rain really magnifies that. Lewis proved that.

Last year a major pit snafu cost Lewis a 22 second lead and the win. This year it happened to Daniel. So although Hobbo made a good point it racing really is a team sport.
The MB team made a decision based on Nico's issues to put Lewis ahead and it paid off. I like Nico and Lewis a lot so when either one wins that is fine with me.

Now all of this talk about Nico and Ferrari because Kimi's contract is not renewed yet(and may not be). I sure hope that does not distract Nico from doing his best this year.
He really stands his best chance to get the driver's championship. I did expect to see the two MB drivers at the top of the list, but after that the top ten is a bit of surprise IMO.

Indy 500

I hope Alexander Rossi's Indy 500 win, incredible for a oval novice and rookie, shows up on the radar of one of the better F1 teams.
There need to be competitive American Formula 1 drivers.
Unlike Michael Andretti who seemed unwilling to 100% commit and do whatever it takes incl relocate to the European heart of F1 motorracing,
Rossi has proven the commitment.
I am sure there will be offers, hopefully with a competitive F1 team. But given his instant American stardom income potential around US based or car racing, offers from F1 will have to be more attractive than driving around the back of the field, like he did with Manor.
