2016 Formula 1 Russian Round

Saw practice 1 and 2.
After MB finally broke out the super soft red tires in practice 2 he set a time more than .6 of a second faster than Vettel.
Then Vettel's car had a major electronics failure. Ferrari used 3 tokens for each car bringing brand new engines to this race. They also brought new front wings for both cars.
MB used used two tokens each for upgraded fuel systems.

We know Vettel can drive his way back into a possible podium if he qualifies well plus 5 spots, but the year of Ferrari's comeback is really getting stranger with every race.

Not sure how Maurizio Arrivabene sleeps at night. Will Kimi's gearbox implode during practice 3, qualifying or the race?(I hope it does not) The pressure on the team is probably at an all time high.

Ok race to watch but you knew with some 20 laps to go the top 5 order barring a mechanical failure. Even though Lewis was catching Nico I don't think he would have been able to pass him as Nico was always in clean air and managing his race.

Kvyat definitely was at fault for the first bulldozer into Vettel but I went back and watched Vettels on board and if you listen you can clearly hear him either get off the throttle which makes no sense at that point of the track or there was some type of glitch so I don't blame Kvyat for the second hit.

Magnussen had a outstanding race IMO, best drive of the field for me.

Also quite enjoyed listening to Vettel going ape shhhh on the radio after the crash, and boy did Lewis take a shot at the team in his post race comments.

Mercedes aren't for people who want to have one, it's for people who can have one.

I just watched it on the DVR.

For some reason none of the Sochi races have thrilled me yet. I did like Vettel's radio chatter. Two in a row he DNFs. Just bad luck.

Not really surprised Lewis got into second place. Once he nade a pass on anybody he was gone. The MB team continues to just eat up the tracks.
Magnussen did a great job. Not sure what Nasr was thinking by ignoring the bollard.
