I want them to bring the high banking back into the track layout.

There is a Peter Windsor video from a year or 2 ago where post Monza race he goes to the closed off parts of the track and the old pit area. Its posted here somewhere.
The track infield also houses the tool factory of the former F1 racing Brambilla brothers.
Cheers

I did see that.

There is also a clip of Moss and Hamilton in vintage Mercedes GP cars. The banking looks to be in decent shape.

I remember watching Mario Andretti in the JPS Lotus coming through the Nuerburgring (Northern Loop) carousel, one of 2 section where the inner part is steeply banked, and the car is all the way down on what little springs they had, complete with sparks flying.
The few times modern F1 cars have been filmed on the old track, ride hide is adjusted close to max, and they only use the flatter outer part of the 2 sections and never the steeply banked parts.
It would probably be a nightmare to set up F1 cars to be competitive on tracks that would combine steeply banked and regular road course section.
It may require different tire construction as well?
I am not an Indy expert, but wondered whether the cars for racing on ovals with all left turns can be set up (besides camber) with different tires on either side of the car to manage the different loads?

As an aside (off Monza topic):
My father used to tell me about Berlin 'brickyard,' the Avus race track with its steeply banked section (pic then & now).
The Avus banking was at 43 degrees, compared to 31 Daytona and 11 Indianapolis, Monza used to be 38.7 degrees.
The banked section while no longer used is still there, and the rest of the track is part of the city highway.
French driver Jean Behra flew off the top of the wall to his death in 1959 in a sports car warm up race for the German GP.

Wow that is a wild looking banking being hand built at Avus. I have never seen it up close. Not sure I would would have had the balls to run the cars of that era on it.

As far as Indy Car oval tires go the left side tires do use a different construction versus the right side tires. And you are correct the sway bars, corner weighting and spring rates are different on every corner versus a road course setup.

Pretty good race and the end got interesting when they asked Lewis to push and that they "would explain later" even though he had a huge advantage as it was. That 2016 spec MB motor must have all the other engine manufactures wondering how can they possibly compete. I figured this would happen, everyone got the tokens to upgrade the engines it was only a matter of time before MB rolled out their upgrades. It has to be quite different considering the fuel they were using won't even work on the new spec powerplant.

Mercedes aren't for people who want to have one, it's for people who can have one.

And we almost had an F1 deflategate. At least F1 settled in short order and not the months the NFL took with the Patriots and Brady.
