Hungarian "Team Orders"

So apparently this is a thing, maybe just another flash in the pan.

Mercedes to rethink team orders | Hungarian Grand Prix | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1

Lewis forgets, probably intentionally, that the team has only a secondary concern for the drivers championship - they are competing for the constructors championship, and want to ensure their strategy secures the most points possible. To that end, their call was not at all surprising - Nico is on a different strategy, let him through, and keep managing your tires.

Is it at all surprising that Mercedes don't consider the championship to be won, despite their enormous lead at present? Is it at all surprising that Lewis continues to search for opportunities to snatch oppression from the jaws of success?

Although not a Hammy fan, I don't blame him for wanting to race to the end. What irks me is that bullshit block running Nico nearly off the track. Classy response from Nico, I had a chance to pass but it didn't work out.

Sky's Ted Kravitz compared the difference in lap times and the 10 seconds Rosberg lost behind Hamilton, and the consensus seems to be that Rosberg could have been at least second.

If Nico needs Hamilton to pull over so he can pass, then he doesn't deserve the position - especially after Hamilton dragged his 24 hour old car up the grid from dead last for the second week in a row. Mercedes can ask for what they want but its nice to see one single solitary person stopping them when they make ridiculous requests.
