Agree, it has the beginning of a barn burner.

Lewis will charge up through the pack if his car is healthy and he does not cook the rear again. I think his biggest obstacale will be Alonzo as the two are best friends. I dont see him getting past both williams cars and Riccairdo unless they crash out or have a mechanical. Fun if the Williams boys take each other out. Would not be a big suprise.

Nico had his Q3 run squashed by Lewis pulling back on the track after his spin. Did not hear Nico throwing his toys around the motorhome though. P1 for him.

I think Ricciardo will have a great day. He is starting in a strong position to fight for it. This should be a RBR kind of track...no kidding. He should have strong fights with the williams cars. If that happens It will be the race...

1. Rosberg
2. Ricciardo
3. Bottas
4. Hamilton
5. Alonzo

My daughter (F1 fan and 12 years old) says I am wrong. Her predictions are...

1. Nico
2. Filipe
3. Daniel
4. Valtteri
5. Fernando

IF the race would have ended between laps 28 and 39, I WOULD have had another "win". Correct drivers, wrong order. It certainly did not take Lewis too long to make up positions from his 9th starting spot. It became harder once he had to deal with other Mercedes-powered competitors.

Williams cars are legit. Lots of time left in the season. I don't think anyone has anything for Mercedes AMG Petronas though - between FRIC and their mastery of ERS / brake-by-wire, there's just nobody close. Straight-line speed is valuable but it's not enough. Monza should be interesting.

The A1 ring was a fantastic challenge, so glad they came back there.

If anything, Mercedes need to figure out brake cooling on circuits like that.

Mercedes are running smaller rear brakes than anybody else.

That makes sense given that ERS works on the rear axles...not sure precisely which brake rotors they were worried about getting hot, but I got the sense they were the fronts - especially when the STR had that dramatic failure. Did they figure out if the right rear failure on the other STR was also a brake disk?
