Moderator Posts a Spoiler ?

Thanks so much for ruining the first qualifying for me. I didn't expect such an immature post from a moderator (Vettel roars to pole). Most other sites don't allow post titles that preview the results of something like a race or quali; but the moderator is the person who is responsible for policing. Can you re-think this for the future?

As no one here is clairvoyant, the results were posted at the end of speed tv's qualifing broadcast, when the same information was available to everyone.
To expect a site with 330,000 + members not to have information out there as it happens is the only thing 'immature' here.
When I cannot watch qualifying live, I always make sure to stay away from sites where someone is sure to have posted the results.
Have a nice day..

In general we post practice and qualifying results as they occur. Race results are not posted in the headline and a spoiler warning is used. I don't foresee this changing.

A site Administrator or Moderator of a Motorsports forum should be aware of current best practices. My use of the word "immature" was in reference to the "childish" policy and opinion here with regard to sharing results in thread titles.

I invite you and the others who are defending this practice to take a look at Ferrarichat.com and look at the F1 forum. The activity, information, opinions, etc. demonstrate how a motorsports forum, with significantly more participant members, handles the subject of posting race results in threads. They take it seriously and consider Qualifying as important as the Race itself.

Please reconsider.

As a real motorsport enthusiast, I do not wait for "written" results, I watch the race "live" - even if it is Midnight or 2 am -

If you search this forum, you'll find multiple thread with GP qualifying results / pole position / and even race winners as headline.
Your post above could have made a valid suggestions, and would have made a good thread starter for members to discuss.
Thanks so much for ruining the first qualifying for me. I didn't expect such an immature post from a moderator just sounded immature....

Some of our AU members probably attended both qualifying and the race.
Would you in all seriousness ask all others not to post, until YOU have watched the race?
Cheers

I think this just underscores my point. Each one of those was a potential spoiler for someone who saw it.

Agreed. If you or any others didn't take my request seriously because you didn't like the way I posed the issue, sorry if I distracted you from the real point. So how about thinking this over on its merits?

Do you actually think this is a valid reason why thread titles should include race or quali results?

Your response hasn't addressed the website best practices aspect of my reply. Will you take the time as a Moderator to see how Moderators at Bimmerfest, or Ferrari Chat or other respected sites handle this?

Cheers
