Force India clarify German legal threat
“The contractor decided to take matters into their own hands”

Unwelcome news for billionaire Vijay Mallya
Earlier today we reported that Force India received a visit from the German police over alleged unpaid bills over marketing services. The Silverstone-based team however this evening clarified the situation somewhat stating that the unwelcome visitors were in fact ‘uniformed personnel’ accompanying lawyers with regard to a dispute over the quality – and one assumes non-payment - of the team’s motorhome.

"The Force India Formula One Team today received a visit from legal representatives accompanied by uniformed personnel who demanded that the team's motorhome be vacated as they wished to seize the team's property,” the team said in a statement.

“This dispute with the contractor has been on-going since last season and pertains to the quality of construction of the motorhome and its functionality.
The contractor decided to take matters into their own hands without due notice and process and approached a local German court who were presented with highly disputable facts.

“Force India will resolve matters during the weekend with the contractor but will fiercely contest the wrongful claims made by them before the local German Court if no amicable settlement is achieved.”

Interestingly, we here at ESPN Racing-Live.com were recently contacted by separate supplier to the team who were most concerned regarding late payment of invoices. Indeed, so late were those payments that the firm in question were actively considering withholding their services.
