Spanish Grand Prix

What a great start by Rubens. I think he was robbed of the win by switching strategies with Jensen, but a great 1-2 result for the Mercedes powered Brawn team. It's not a fluke when you win 4 out of the first 5 races!

Nice to see Webber on the podium as well. Vettel got stuck behind Massa but came in 4th.

Great drive by Alonso in front of the home crowd, loved that last lap pass on the outside. McLaren was lost in the sauce. Ferrari remains clueless with stupid mistakes. And I fear our man Bourdais should start packing.

Well my wife's current favourite Trulli was pushed wide, then had his nose cut off as he skidded back out of the kitty-litter. Then the Torro Rosso took each other out of the race.
I lost our bet on the number of finishers, I had 13 but Massa actually made it to the finish and ran out of fuel on the cooling down lap; I had him pegged to be under-fuelled and DNF.

+ 1, incredible start. It was Rubens race, snatched away by team strategy.
Understandable from the teams perspective, but one had to feel sorry for the guy.
His face in the post race interview said it all.

I had followed Bourdais exploits in CART, and expected more from him in F1.
Even if the car's characteristics don't match his preference and driving style, he had plenty of time to adapt.

Max Mosley's promise of easier overtaking certainly didn't happen, and otherwise slower but KERS equipped cars are the rolling road blocks of the season.
Monaco could be another boring to watch race.

Hmm, hypothetically, a Brawn with KERS would be almost impossible to beat.

Unhappy Barrichello seeks Brawn answers

Unhappy Barrichello seeks Brawn answers
Brazilian veteran not willing to play second fiddle

Button gained victory with strategy change
Rubens Barrichello on Sunday made clear he is no longer willing to play second fiddle to any teammate.

The Brazilian veteran finished second to Brawn Mercedes teammate Jenson Button in Spain, after the team decided to switch the championship leader to a two stop strategy.

Barrichello, who passed Button at the first corner and led early, remained on his three-stopper. "I had the race in my hands and I was quite surprised when they told me they were switching Jenson to two," the 36-year-old said.

"I would like to understand why they changed that," he added, explaining that his third set of tyres also slowed him down.

For six years at Ferrari, Barrichello was Michael Schumacher's 'number two', ceding to team orders on many occasions, including the infamous radio call of the 2002 Austrian Grand Prix.

"If that happens I won't follow any team orders anymore," Barrichello told reporters in Barcelona. "I'm making it clear now so everyone knows."

The intimation is that Brawn deliberately changed Button's strategy to favour the championship leader over Barrichello, but Button denies it is the case.

"We are all here to win, and today it just went my way and it didn't for him," the Briton said. "It could swing around for the next race, that's the way things go in F1."
