Drive it like you stole it..............
Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton might be skilled at handling fast cars, but his father could certainly do with a few driving lessons after crashing his Porsche into a children's playground.
Anthony Hamilton apologised for the damage to the Porsche and fence
Anthony Hamilton was just 200 metres from his home in Tewin, Hertfordshire, when he lost control of the £330,000 vehicle and ploughed across a grass verge, leaving deep tire tracks, before crashing through a hedge.
The accident left the silver Porsche Carrera GT with a broken rear light and two large cracks in the body work below it.
To make matters worse the car does not even belong to Mr Hamilton, he was merely borrowing it for the day. He refused to reveal the identity of its owner.
Fortunately nobody was injured in the crash, which happened right next to a children's play area. Police were called to the scene, by the side of a 30mph country road, and the car was towed away for repair.
Mr Hamilton said: "This is my first crash in almost 30 years and it had to happen in someone else's car.
"Thankfully the only thing hurt was the car, and a bush fence – for which I am extremely sorry."
When BBC's Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the Carrera GT he said it was one of the fastest cars he had ever driven and had "a savagery that's hard to explain".
He wrote: "I've been in some pretty fast machinery over the years, but nothing prepared me for the neck-snapping, spleen-bursting, hammer blow explosion of power that came the first time I floored the Carrera's throttle."
Lewis Hamilton, 23, is currently racing for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team. He managed to crash his own Formula 1 car in Monaco before coming back to win the race.

I did. I searched before I posted my original post and none of the at least 6 articles I read made any reference to this. They all refer to the car belonging to someone else but none say it was Lewis' car. I just did the search link you posted and none of the articles on the first page confirmed this either.

Get over yourself. You need "to take more initiative" to back up your statement. Maybe you were right -- but I did a reasonable search, then and now, and don't see clarification of your statement, so don't puff yourself up by taking a swipe at me for not showing initiative.

Listen closer, on the Canadian Formula 1 Race Day lead up to the race one of the race announcers made the statement, now doubtful one of the English announcer's would have mentioned this if it was not true since it was broadcast all over the middle east and SE Asia. Do you honestly believe that LH who has signed a 10 million USD contract per year would only have Mercedes in his garage? Do you believe Mercedes would want it to get out that LH had or owned any other car besides a Mercedes.
Have you ever dealt or traveled in an area more than 80 kms from where you were born, think.............

Yes, and you are truly a hypocrite for even asking.
Too bad you got so upset about just asking for some clarification. I actually had the same thoughts about Mercedes definitely wanting to cover things up if Hamilton did own the Porsche but I didn't want to perpetuate them without some sort of justification considering none of the major F1 news portals that I had seen was putting forth any evidence of this. It was a simple question and you decided to turn it into something else.
