If there was any validity to the story/if it did happen, that would be a downer for Lewis. Here you have the greatest Rookie ever driving side-by-side with arguably the greatest driver ever [I don't want a Senna, Fangio, etc..debate to start here]. Either way, at the end of the season, someone would want to leave.
If Schumi came back only to have the championship clinched in the end by his much younger 2nd year rookie teammate, he would be embarrassed beyond belief. If Schumi were to come back and out all the competition, which I wouldn't doubt, Hamilton wouldn't be in contention till Schumi retired again.
It seems very comic book anyway. I can see it now~~~~~~
"The Great One and the Amazing Boy Wonder"
-Their job? To fight the evil Scuderia Empire lead by a blood-thirsty French oompa loompa-Jean Todt"
It may have worked back in the 40's and 50's, but today, I don't think so.
One addition that I believe would make sense for McLaren, and some of you may or may not agree, but our old friend, Häkkinen would fill the seat nicely. The team could save money over pulling a contracted driver, or simply someone who believes they are worth more than they really are. Plus, Schumi himself calls Mika Häkkinen his most respected and greatest rival. If anyone should make a comback run, it should be the Flying Finn.
Any thoughts on the subject?
Any thoughts on the fact that Häkkinen's wife's last name was Honkanen?
I thought it was funny.
