Mercedes to buy outstanding McLaren shares?
Todays FIA ruling, and the possible implications for the McLaren team.
IMO, there is a good chance that Mercedes Benz will act quickly, and make an offer for more of, or all (50%) the remaining McLaren shares owned by Ron Dennis & Mansour Ojeh. Norbert Haug could be the Mercedes appointed team principal, with his thick Southern German accent.
Another possible scenario would have Mercedes divest of their 50% McLaren interest.
Either Toyota or Honda, with two of the highest budgets in Formula One, and little to show for it, would probably love to get their hands on the winning McLaren organization, and have an instant championship contender for 08.
I think this to be unlikely; Mercedes has too much invested in the team.
The value attached to the shares should have declined after the FIA ruling.
