Felippe Massa will start from pole position in tomorrow`s French Grand Prix and is joined on the front row by Lewis Hamilton. Massa`s team-mate Kimi Raikkonen qualified third.
The major story is that Hamilton`s team-mate Fernando Alsonso was unable to set a time in final qualifying and is provisionally placed in tenth but may be bumped to twentieth if the trouble he experienced with his engine requires a replacement.
I am waiting for the conspiracy theories to surface.
There was some very good racing in the middle positions today. I wish we had availability to better video so we could see more than just the front runners most of the time.
Of course it is better than it was for 5 years when all we saw was the Ferrari P1P2 Parade on TV EVERY week.
Paul Ricard is a heck of a test facility but that would be a massive effort and investment on Bernie's part to get Paul Ricard ready for a GP. There aren't any spectator stands there anymore from what I understand. There are also rumors that Bernie is trying to sell the place. No doubt it is easier to put up stands than build the track and garages but isn't the public access infrastructure pretty poor, too? I wouldn't be surprised if the French GP takes a year off to 1) anger the public enough they argue for state subsidies to pay for the race and 2) get a new facility up to speed. Just my own speculation.
The Ferrari # 1 and # 3 qualifying positions were even more impressive considering the fuel loads.
Each lap of fuel is supposed to equal somewhere between one and two tenth of a second.
While Hamiltons first pit stop was on lap 16, Massa's was on lap 19, and Raikonnen pitted on lap 22.
A true reversal of fortune for Ferrari with a dominating performance.
I have been following F - 1 since the 1960's, but Albers taking off with a whole fuel rig was a new experience.
A good race, with lots of great fights for position behind the leader group.
I am looking forward to Silverstone.

LOL about Albers...i think he got a bit ahead of himself...i'd probably do the same... sitting in the pits eager to go and as soon the lollipop move a tiny bit i'd take off..
ferrari def came back with a vengance but kimi's drive was stella, everyone expected massa to win but when kimi got ahead i nearly fell off me sofa, where the hell did he came from?
yeah silverstone's gonna be the race of the year bar the championship deciding one...i'm really hoping kimi wins it this year...hamilton's got many championships ahead of him..
and as for alonso i enjoy seeing him frustrated...he's all over the place...good overtaking on nick and fisi but both got him in the pits at the end, i thought that was hilarious...
A really interesting race. I really can't tell if Alonso is great or crap. What do you guys think?
Wierd how Ferrari just came back from nowhere for this race. Silverstone will be interesting to see whether it's just the super smooth track that brought them back or have they really found something? For sure it was not McLarens best weekend.
Bring on Silverstone!
