That ought to put them a bit further back on the grid again.

I can't imagine why why WHY Alonso would leave Renault, but as a die-hard Ferrari fan I'm glad to hear it (I know, I know). Hey, I liked them when they STUNK. Were it not for McLaren's on-track fireworks displays this year, they'd stink again!

I saw a sign at the '01 Indy race that said something like "Mercedes-Benz = Poor Man's Ferrari". It was funny before I owned one, but now that I do, it stings a little. I'm now a self-loathing Ferrari F1 fan.

It remains to be seen how Alonso will get along with Ron Dennis management style at McLaren. For 2007, it would be interesting to see Raikkonen on an equal footing with Schumacher in a Ferrari.

Well for my part , I think Raikkonen will have Schumacher throughout the season, if not in the race, certainly in Quali.
Regards the other comments about Weber and Fisi and the feeling that this will pit them down the grid, I really doubt that. Fisi will do what Fisi does now, very indifferent, however Weber is a one lap specialist and I think you'll see him up the front consistently. It will only be his impatience that will get him into trouble in the race.

To me, even though he did not win, Raikkonen with a number of outstanding drives was the Champ of 2005. Why should teams spend X mio. on veteran drivers who don't get results. Sebastien Bourdais deserves a shot at F-1. Next season might be the year of the young drivers. Beside Rosberg, we might see Kovalainen and Hamilton in a race cockpit. I personally like Kubica, no flash, lowkey and fast.

I watched Kovalainen compete head to head with Schumacher in the Race of Champions in the Stade de France Paris in Nov 2005. Schumacher lost....
Hamilton will definitely be on the grid in F1 next year, but for which team ?
