How can Renault have a faster and more reliable car than MB?
Renault and Ferrari are right now head and shoulders above everyone else. Fifth for Raikkonen in his probably last year at McLaren Mercedes is an improvement. It was probably the maximum anyone could have gotten out of this car. Leaving Montoya in limbo without a contract can't be of help to the team. They also lost their top aerodynamicist to Red Bull at a salary of U.S. $ 10 mio a year.
McLaren Mercedes must be glad that BMW is doing even worse. It must be embarrassing for BMW, to see their former partner Williams doing as well as they do, and on a much smaller budget. I used to live a bit north of NA for a while, do you get F-1 live? Cheerio, Teutone (aka Horst K)
Some Renault bloke (cant remember) said that they spend the money in the areas that are most important. I dont see how that gives them such an advanatage though. Im pretty sure that all the F1 teams are spending there money in the right 'areas' as well.
McLaren, Renault and Ferrari are all supposed to spend in the neigborhood of 400mio $ U.S. annual. The rest of the larger teams spend similar amounts. Toyota is rumored to spend more, but has less to show for it. Maybe engineering has to decide early on into which direction to push developement, and if they dont find improvement there, it takes a while to change directions. For example Ferrari was for years ahead of all the other teams, but last year they lagged behind the top runners. Raikonnen should have been World Champion last year if not for reliability issues. Last years 3 liter V 10's had more torque and around 960 hp. This years 2.4 L V8 engines rev close to 20,000 rpm (qualifying setup) have less torque and between 720-750 hp. But because of improved chassis and most of all tires, cornering speeds are up and laptimes faster than last year. Pretty amazing. Teutone (aka Horst K)

We have DSTV and we enjoy F-1 live from Supersport channels.
People are crazy about F-1 this side, you must see how flags fly from roof tops during this season.
We don't get the GP champions series here. I hear Mansell is doing real well. Good to see that some of my fellow old farts are still kicking butt. Cheerio, Teutone (aka Horst K)
Well, come on now. Nobody was saying that Ferarri "sucked" because they weren't doing as well last year. Yes, it seems they were right when they were blaming it on Bridgestone, but come on. McLaren's MBs don't "suck". They just need to get some things ironed out. A few wing or tire adjustments can mean the difference in 10 places on the grid.

Both Mansells (the sons that is) are doing well in UK Formula BMW
Not yet 21 year old Nico Rosberg grew up in Monaco and Ibiza and is fluent in four languages. He had been accepted to study engineering at imperial college London, but decided on a fulltime racing carreer much to the benefit of Formula 1. Another driver to keep an eye on is Adrian Sutil. There is presently no French driver in F-1. It's hard to understand, why Renault does not eat a little humble pie, and offers Champ Cars Sebastien Bourdais a contract. Cheerio, Teutone (aka Horst K)
