In 91 Schumacher got his start with the Jordan team and moved to the Briatore run Benneton team. The Benneton team later was powered by Renault and now carries that name. In 94 & 95 Schumacher led the team to their championship with a Renault powered car. When he moved from Benneton to Ferrari in 96, he took both Ross Brawn and chief designer Rory Byrne with him. I think he still has a few years of top notch racing left in him. Horst K

the chances he commits treason again? in a renault?

i thinks its high time the German World Champion driver drives a BENZ....!

on race day here, u see red ferrari flags everywhere, and barely any BMW, and even less Benz flags.....

it kinda sucks, u know?

In my armchair opinion none, provided Ferrari becomes more competitive. But if Renault can keep the advantage, who knows?? It would be nice to see Schumacher finish his career with a German backed team. Mercedes MacLaren, considering their regimented management style, hmm I dont know. BMW with the personalities involved, even less likely. But let me dust off my chrystal ball and hope for an exiting season. Maybe we can infuse some life into this dormant forum. Horst K P.S. Re. my recap, I saw my first F-1 race as a little kid at the original Nuerburgring Nordschleife, over 20km (ca.13 mile) and have since followed F-1 from four Continents.

Well, I will confess. I am a Renault fan. AND a Flavio fan. He obviously has figured out how to win.

Whats interesting is M.S. said a few years ago, he was going to finish his career at Ferrari. Today, itv.com is reporting Schumacher said,

"I can only say that I would like to take all the time necessary to decide and to fully think about things."

However, can Renault AFFORD him? There are rumblings they are getting OUT of F1.

As for Schumacher driving for a German team, for me, its a non-factor. Would it be NICE? Nah. Besides; BMW? GOD NO. McLaren? I dont really see this either. Ron Dennis? It just doesnt compute.

Renault are definitely in a class by themselves. Briatore is a great team manager, but does not seem to be a class act. After that Heidi Klum thing. Now there is a chassis.

i really doubt m/s will retire in a benz it would be cool for us, but the last years of his career will be dressed in Ferarri RED, you can count on it. But a german champ ending with a german engine behind him would be sweet. Benz will have supply him an engine that will not dissapoint, talk to kimi about that, he should be the champ, but those high strung benz engines just had a hard time holding it together for the finnish superstar. maybe they dont speek the same language. as far a shumi to re ault.....ya right. not gonna happen, right[?]
