Doesn't anybody watch F1 racing?

The third pole in a row and the second victory in a row this season and nobody says anything?
FYI, K Raikonnen just won the GP of Monte Carlo, followed by 2 BMW's, Heidfeld and Weber.
After the start, KR blocked Alonso , and that was it. The Mclaren had a one stop strategy, and was posting fast lap after fast lap, until almost the end when M Schumacher got the fastest lap, 1:15.
The points leader, Alonso got 4th place, and my favorite driver, JP Montoya got 5th place after starting from the last position.
Great victory, and makes watching the races more interesting now. I want to see JPM in the podium soon.

RE: McLaren-Mercedes No 1 in Monaco

Kimi and McLaren-Mercedes had a great show this weekend in Monaco. First fastest time by over a half second ahead of Alonso in the first qualification lap. Then with the car full of gasolin Kimi still managed to keep the pole position in the second qualification. In the race start Kimi had full control over Alonso and raced away in such pace that Alonso and the other could not follow him despite that hi had extra weight of the gasolin. Mercedes has now a new much more powerful engine in the McLaren than before. This in combination of good race strategy and a super driver is hard to beat. Formula 1 will be most interesting to follow.

RE: Doesn't anybody watch F1 racing?

The Mclaren's look to be the class of the field now! KR had strong run and a well deserved win but JPM was also making good progress working his way up to 5th from the back of field. Nurburgring is a totally different type of course and the BAR/Hondas will be back. If both cars can qualify well, MB may have 2 drivers on the podium!

Don't get too excited, you never want to discount the red cars. MS did set fastest lap and on any other circuit he would have been able to move into the top 5 easily. On home turf and desperate for a win he could be very dangerous. If only Kimi's car hadn't died at Imola so we'd know how it does in the cool weather in case there's some this weekend. Anyone know what the forcast is?

I watch F1 on the computer as well as the tv. Although our household includes a C 320C and SLK 350, I am a true Tifosi. The wx for this weekend should be cooler and chance of rain which plays into the red car's favor. We were in Imola when Kimi was leading then had his misfortune strike again. He has a good chance of surpasing Alonso for the championship but . . don't discount the red cars. The second driver of the McLaren team really needs to be replaced with either Wurz or de la Rosa. Too much whinning, blames everything on someone or something and unsportsmanship-like conduct on the track. Take the incident he provoked at Monaco as an example - should have been dq'd from the race.

Guess we will know in about 6 hours (4 am here) what's in store for the weekend as the first practice begins. I'll definitely be "glued" to the computer screen for live timing. Sure glad that the qualifying format has been changed - now if they can go yet another step and revert to how it was a few years back.

Damn, so how can a MB owner ever be a tifosi?[:)] Thanks for the forcast, looks like things are looking up for Bridgestone since Michelin still seems to lack a tire that'll perform well in the cold. Races are a bit too early to watch live here but you can be sure I won't miss a thing, even if the worng cars win[:)] And, yeah, you're right. JPM should be dumped.

Who cares, F1 began it's steady decline in 1997, and by 1999 it was dead, now there is no sport left in the racing, just a bunch of cars going really fast in a circle.

[:0]Ah, OK! Are you sure you are talking about F1? I've never seen them around circles. NASCAR, IRL and Champ (sometimes) go around circles or ovals.
Anyway, perhaps went down in the USA, but there is a whole world out there who watch F1 races weekend after weekend. Specially this year since it seems the end of Ferrari supremacy.
Go Alonso!!!

F1 DEAD?? well then u obviously havent ever been in germany on a race day before!!! flags are hung out of windows and across buildings, beers are consumed, and the plasma screen in the bar gets screamed at each day, during qualifying, and on race day. formel 1 is NOT dead, its just beginning to get better.......the "dead racing" is those drunken rednecks driving 500 miles in a circle all day, running flat out. how boring.
