Wolfgang, I have a question regarding the 2003 Dakar, in your page you indicate that Strugo with an ML 430 won last years Dakar rally, in searching the different sites the best I have been able to come up was this, First position #228 Loubet/Debron in a Nissan and second Strugo with an ML430.
I admit I am not familiar with the rally, can you help to clarify?
Thanks

Andrew, I replied to your personal emails previously, maybe you didn't receive them? That site www.dakar.com is a bit difficult to navigate, maybe that's why it was confusing...
Loubet dropped out of the Dakar 2003, so he could not have won it. Just go to the Dakar 2003 site and then look up his times:
Jean-Pierre Strugo, Mercedes ML430, won the Dakar 2003 in the production class. Here is the final standing from 2003, after many dropped out, in the gasoline powered production class, with ML430s on place 1, place 3 and place 6!
After 9 days Jean Pierre Strugo and Jean Yves Larroque, Mercedes ML430, lead the production class in the Dakar 2004. This year's race is very tough and half of all vehicles have given up already. Jpe Strugo likes it when it gets tough! [:D]

Wolfgang,
Thanks for your attention, in answer to your question I have not received your E-Mail.
Not too long ago I read the same link you provide and they listed Loubet as the winner, do you have any insight as to why he dropped out? I agree with what you are saying that is why I have a little confusion, and yes I read the link you provided and is in total agreement with what you are saying.

Andrew,
I just sent you another PM for testing. Hope you received it. When one first opens the page for the standings on the 2003 Dakar, it shows the results for stage 2. It looks like this:
