ESP Light on Dashboard comes on

Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting on benzworld, please bear with me. So basically I am running into some issues with my B250. The ESP light on the dashboard comes on/off randomly, when this happens the car automatically slows down to a halt despite me pressing the accelerator. This has happened more than once in the past 6 months but fortunately no one was directly behind me on the highway. The car is still under warranty but the dealership has been giving me conflicting answers. Has anyone seen this happen before? Any suggestions?

I do have pictures of the dashboard when the car slows down. Not sure if I can upload over here.

Thank you

My SLK320 ESP light also came on intermittently. The dealer traced it to, I believe, the g-load switch in the center of the car in the console. They replaced it under warranty. No problem since.

Have you done research yet to rule out possible exterior causes, or secondary contributions:

Brake and wheel modifications, repairs et al
tire rim or tire replacement size changes
hand brake (if applicable) ensure full release
Any event a larger curb or pot hole hit, at the time maybe in consequential after inspection?

Basically - need more info on when the problem began, and did you rule out any other events already that could be usual contributors. Sometimes things we rule out at the time.

I used to live in an area where pot holes and roller coaster asphalt pavement was the usual course of "normal". I didn't know what a smooth street was until I moved to Texas. Seriously.
