Severe accident involving a girl from my hometown and her older model mercedes (1989 300E) Happy ending, but the whole story raised my hair. But as an afficianado, I enjoyed this quote from the fire rescue, "the metal on her older model Mercedes dulled the department’s cutting equipment."

I remember seeing a W124 at a MB yard that had rolled 3 times - the roof wasn't even deformed

Newer cars are like that today (making it difficult to cut), due to use of high strength steel in critical areas. Fire departments responding to auto accidents are very aware of this.
