2003 ML BULLETPROOF CAR

My wife was driving with my daughter, when someone walking kind of drunk was in front of her, she stopped, the guy pulled a gun, my wife drove off the guy shot at my wife, only damage to the car is it dented the metal by the wing window on the rear drivers side and the bullet lodged in the frame that holds the window, by looking at the bullet it was large diameter, maybe 380 or 44 dont know, he shot from no more than ten feet from the car. Heavy well built car

Glad your wife and kid is ok.

If you know anything about firearms. There is a huge difference in caliber sizes between .380ACP and the .44 Magnum. Both are deadly but the .44 Magnum will go right thru the car like it was nothing. The .380ACP also known as a 9mm kurtz or short in German is very weak when its shot against metal but if it hit flesh it will just be as deadly as any bullet. Even a 9mm which is a .380 but with more gun powder in the cartridge will penetrate car doors as it is a high speed round. Most likely that gun was a small caliber such as a .380 Automatic Colt Pistol or even smaller like a .22LR which wont go thru metal. Since you are in South America its most likely that.

There is one rule...there are no rules!

He was referring to the size of the hole so his references are probably right on. But he could ad .38, 9mm, .40 to that list amd probably a lot more. But it's not the important detail. The short story is that a guy fired at his wife and kid in a car and they are safe. Mercedes builds their cars with a lot of metal for structural safety and in this case that helped capture the bullet. They were lucky, but that luck was assisted by an over engineered german vehicle.

True True. Glad the family is alright as that is what matters in the end.

That may be the most epic portion of this story. Glad to know your family is safe, and thanks for a wonderful testimonial.

My personal experience: When you step on the gas, a grin shows up on your face. The harder you step, the bigger the grin.
