Audi RS6 Safety

I know this is an Audi but it is truly remarkable that the driver in this crash was 100% fine.

What happened, did the tree jump out in front of the car?

Either that, or maybe before and that caused him to crash.

He's very lucky.

As for the safety of a RS6, I think every car with 400 horsepower is potentionally very unsafe. Doesn't matter what brand.

More hp = faster driving = worse accidents = logic

he was just lucky, if the car hit a few mm infront it would have hit the driver, instead of the rear passenger area....

no car is safe after 80mph, dont understand why they make such high speeds possible (over 100mph) when they cant protect the passengers at those speeds!

most crash tests are done at less than 30MPH as well!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a crash investigator, but still, I don't understand the events that led to this crash. The frontal roof area has significant crushing, so I can understand that maybe the Audi was mid-flip when the roof area hit the tree. I'm cool with that. But from those pics I don't understand how/why that impact would have then sliced the car open pretty much diagonally along its length. Maybe it hit two/several trees. I'm not suggesting the pics are fake, but just trying to understand the sequence of events that led to a roof crush, then rip-apart.

Uhm, the whole car is completely shredded.

He just drove through the tree, or the tree went completely through the car.

From a driver's point of view, the tree entrered right front and went diagonally to the rear left. No vertical flip.

He didn't crash on the tree which is closest to the wreck i think.
