I'll bet there are a few Mercedes' engineers who would be very interested in analyzing that wreckage. Too bad about the kid, but it could not have been the speed that mattered. What matters is the change in speed.

wot a waste of life and machine, they're a bunch of car hoons over there ,i saw a dubai jeremy clarkson special a few year back, can't believe the antics they get upto..

the people here saying the speed radar flash him with out photo and the speed was 204 Mils !!

in this country there is fixed radars in all high ways ..
it's really very bad crash for SLR ..

how does a change of speed have an affect? do you mean like changes from high speeds (200 to 100mph) also does it apply to motorwary speeds ? (70mph)...just curious

It's like falling off of a 50 story building, it's not the speed you attain on the fall, it's the sudden change of speed when you reach the sidewalk.

I think what he means is the change in speed, like from 200+ mph to 0 or -0, if an oncoming vehicle was involved, in less than 1 second! It'll get you every time...
