my testimony of MB..I have to admit...

...once you get into the inner workings of MB's they become easy to work on. being a DIYer for years, I just cringed at the thought of spending so much for repairs...it's borderline racketeering if you ask me. to all of you who can afford the frequent trips to the dealership with or without warranty, I applaude you...I just can't see past the complimentary coffee as reason to reem customers who want a fine vehicle.

I mean, afterall, America brought in almost all of z-germans scientists after the war.

Yup

Me too. The only reason I have a nice SL500 is because a bunch of stuff was broken. If it hadn't been for this forum, and a decent understanding of mechanics, I would probably just have turned around and sold it instead of taking it to the STEALERSHIP.

Two reasons.
Monopoly. Every new gizmo is dealer fixable only.
There are still enough people (myself not included) who can pay and
don't care about $$$.

My dealership gives coffee, sandwiches, canned beverages, bagels.

Lots o' crap.

But I'm only ever in there for parts

I can see you are very knowlegable about the C. I have 2002 C240 and the driver side headlight reflector came out loose and need to put the clip back. Do you know how to dis-assemble the headlight? Do I need to take off the bumper? if it yes, can you help explain please. Bunch of thanks
