Barno, the husband of a friend of my mother's was killed in a head-on collision - he was driving a Corolla, the other vehicle was a C-class and it was raining... Makes me wonder whether it wasn't perhaps this accident. If it is, it's really a small world! Do you perhaps know when this accident took place? The one I'm referring to, happened in 2005.
The driver of the C-class said that the Corolla simply swerved right in front of him, with no attempt to avoid him. The Mercedes was going about 80 km/h (50 mph) when it hit the Toyota.
They can't tell whether the Toyota perhaps struck a large puddle of water and aqua-planed or whether the driver committed suicide by driving head-on into the Mercedes, which the wife believed was a possibility.
The occupants of the Mercedes were unharmed. The autopsy on the deceased showed, among other things, that his legs were reduced to a pulp (judging by the pictures, it's not hard to believe).
Not that it matters, but the Mercedes completed only 7000 km (4400 miles) before the accident.
