Looks like it was hit on the corner, almost at a 90 degree angle. (Note the passenger fender is untouched.) Unless it's pretty close to head-on, it won't set off the front airbags.
Mercedes E320 found at goldcoast body here in chicago. What i found odd, the air bags hadnt gone off.... anyone have a theory?
Yeah; would be interesting to see the Front Air Bags and especially the Side Air Bags go off....and to see if they really do afford you that much more protection.
I suppose they do.
Better something....than nothing eh?

Law-makers are supposed to regulate in the interest of the public as opposed to regulating in the interest of the regulated party.
If it says Pratt and Whitney on the outside it better say Martin Baker on the inside.
The airbags are only deployed above a certain amount of G-Force. The impact itself probably wasn't that hard. Due to the crumple zones and the fact it has missed the bumper bar the impact zone is in a relatively non structural part of the body Hence the amount of damaged.
I've seen several examples where braking hard makes the front of the car sit very low so impact occurs at headlight/front grille level.
I would go with the theory that the car was hit while parked. The headlights on this model are hold by only 3 plastic tabs. I can't image the right headlight would not come off at a such dynamic impact.
