Since this is a testimonial area, I will put in my 2 cents.
I have owned 4 Mercedes since 1985, my first one sold me on them hands down. Back in 1988, I was driving my first Benz (1984 300TF wagon) I had owned it a few years and loved it. My wife, my 1 year old son and myself were coming home from a icecream farm stand out in the boondocks of NH. Driving home on a two lane roadway i came to a small 4 way intersection. I slowed down to 30MPH since the stop signs were not on my side of the intersection but the intersecting side. Driving through it, I suddenly saw the Buick coming at me from the right side (running the stop sign) I swerved but she broadsided me doing an estimated 45MPH hitting the doors square on. The womans car was totalled.
The hit was where my wife was sitting in the front, and my son in his car seat in the back. Luckily, we were belted and not hurt, the other car was another story, their airbags deployed and they were all right, but both people were drunk and could not get out of the car being so inebriated. The hit was hard enough, that if I was in the Audi wagon I owned at the time (1987 Quattro) I think the car would have entered our passenger cabin a lot more.
Since then, I have always had a MB and will do so till I am beyond driving
Just my input on saftey
