My Smashed S500

I only got to enjoy my 1995 S500 for eight weeks before some jackass ran a red light, at night, with no lights on, and did this. I never even saw her coming - I actually saw my airbags go off before I saw her car. The police estimate she was going about 50 mph trying to make it through the light before it turned red, and before I even saw her, she hit me almost head on. The good news is that I found a front clip in NYC and it should be repaired by the end of June - I can't stand to get rid of the car so soon, I'd rather have it fixed.

Ouch! Almost the same thing happened to me with my 1995. The car was a total loss, and I bought a 1996 S500.

Best of luck with the repair. I understand that it is quite a pain to go through all of this accident stuff.

My cars:

BLACK 1996 S500 (W140) - Sold

BURGUNDY 1989 560 SEL (W126) - Sold

Nooo! That is horrible, but thankfully you can get it fixed! Good thing you were in a Benz tank and not something smaller. Good luck with that.

Sorry to hear about that, I'm glad you're OK. The car performed perfectly and deployed the air bags even if you didn't know what was coming.

Goodluck on fixing the car, it's not going to be the same.

The car held up well for a 50mph crash. Glad it kept you saved.

No, she didn't have insurance. I'm not worried about the car "not being the same", I've had cars repaired in the past and have reasonable expectations. I have a good body shop working on it.
