A Honda Civic ran under my G-Wagen bumper. Punched out his radiator. My license plate frame was bent. Now I have a little Honda emblem on my driver's door.

Many years ago, I offset punched a tree doing about 130kph in my first car, a W111, 220 SEb.

Almost every panel except the rear drivers side passenger door was damaged.

The passenger compartment was intact.

Yes, I had a seat belt on - but this was long before airbags or anything else. But the MB had been using the passenger safety cell since the late 50's.

In a lesser car, I am sure I would not have been able to open the door and walk away.

Hoping I don't jinx myself but that was my first and only accident.

Actually, I think the 126/123 were the only cars produced at the time where the drivers seat would not go through the back window when a car driving 60mph hits you at a dead stop from behind.

my mum wrecked my 126 once, 5 car pile up @ about 40-50mph... rear bumper was barely dented & scratched, hood and fenders were scrunched in about an inch... no damage to the engine or radiator i believe
