Esentially walked away from this one thanks to my '91 350SDL

Old lady ran a red light in her 4dr Lincoln Towncar and t-boned us on the driver's side. Nobody has severe injuries, but the backseat driver's side passenger was knocked out for about 5mins. [B)] Gotta say this car did a lot to save our lives... she took a good hit and I'm gonna miss having her (only had her for 1.5 months[V]).

We'll see what happens for replacing the 350SDL... yes she/they have admitted and accepted fault.

This is why I drive a W126.

Very pleased to hear no one was hurt and that your car did what MB designed it to do. A Towncar is considered a real hit.

Sorry for the loss of your SDL.

amazing to see how well your MB kept up with this hit (guess that lady must have done some 30 miles per hour). Being knocked out is no surprise in a situation like this[B)]

wow, looks like it was quite a serious hit. So glad you're ok.
This is indeed a very good reason to love these cars, they are very safe, especially regarding their age.

keep your head up, man!

Did you have the locks open at the time? Looks like you might've. That would explain why the rear door popped slightly out.

It shouldn't have done that. Most of the energy was absorbed through the B-pillar and through the roof. The door shouldn't have moved. It might've come out looking a bit better.

Good to hear you walked away from this one.
Too bad about the car, but than you might start thinking about getting one with side air bags. [:D]

Sorry for your loss. But at least no one was hurt, that's the important thing.

Just about a month ago an old lady didn't yield when I was making a left when the arrow turned green for me. The good thing is I acted quick and swerved to avoid more damage, but the old lady didn't...
