Off-set crash tests - excellent site!

Many may already know of it, but if not- here is an excellent site.

It is the IIHS "off-set" crash tests:

cool website. Very helpful if you are looking for a new car, or a fairly new car that is used. Thanks for sharing.

My cars:

BLACK 1996 S500 (W140) - Sold

BURGUNDY 1989 560 SEL (W126) - Sold

Yeah- I have found it to be very interesting. This is really a good way to see how strong the passenger cage is on a car. Too bad they really did not start testing like this until 1994-95 or so.

This little Mercedes is one of the best I have ever seen on the site: Very little damage. There are a few other cars on the site that also performed as well.

Look at a 95' Dodge Neon in comparison: Severe damage:

Or this Daewoo Laganza:
http://www.iihs.org/ratings/rating.aspx?id=13
or this Chevrolet Minivan:
http://www.iihs.org/ratings/rating.aspx?id=67
good to see they have improved drastically:

All small cars do not have to have low ratings- this 06' Honda Civic held up extremely well.

My rides:
1988 Mercedes 300SEL 4dr (now my moms car) - around 180k miles
1991 Cadillac Sedan DeVille 4dr - 67,000 miles
2015 Hyundai Sonata SE 4dr - 2,500 miles
1973 Pontiac Grand Ville Custom 4dr - 85,000 miles
1972 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon - 147,000 miles

yea. And ir is also sad that all they have is the C, E, and ML. No w140 or w126. Thats ok. Our cars are very solid and strong. They would probably get good ratings.[:D][;)]
