RE: 2004 E320 Sport and Snow
It's not just Mercedes. My former director had Blizzaks on his Porsche 944 and a close friend got them for his Lincoln LSC. The original Blizzaks transformed the LSC from skating on light snow to a fully functional and safe winter car. Another friend became a convert after sliding into the intersection in his Toyota MR2.
Oh, and FWD only helps to get you moving from a standing start. It doesn't help at all when trying to stop. Search the other forum sections and you'll see this topic beaten to death. A big 4x4 SUV doesn't guarantee traction either, believe me. When you've seen an Explorer with "all-season" tires to a 360, you'll understand what I mean.
Also, $1000 is cheap peace of mind knowing that your car won't slide into oncoming traffic. It's even cheaper considering the high price of your car. In the end, switching tires will prolong the life of your Summer tires.
