RE: Stupid people.........

I got information about this case, its about that time the new engineM111 evolution was first introduced to China market. What happened was that when the engine was started at cold temperature the "Check engine" light comes on.

Cause was that the engine ecu was sensitive to the slightest diference in combustion and producing this fault, they said the fuel grade in China market was not up to specs. (slight misfiring on the negine, restart the engine and the misfire is gone, but CE light still on.)

The remedy for this problem was a recall and replacement of ECU with a less sensitivity of the cumbustion during cold starting and problem was resolve.

not surprised to read this. A friend of mine joined a Citroen AX tour through China in 1987.... told me everybody had to deal with heavily pinging engines due to the horrible quality fo their gas. Plus he faced various repair bills after he returned to Europe. Note, this was the pre catalizer age for most European cars.

RE: Stupid people.........

I'm suprised you guys havnt herd this stuff about MB or Euros in general. Over here although everybody likes euros so many people always say 'dont but a euro but a toyota somthing good and reliable'. Its got alot to do with how you or the previous owner treats the car. Some are lemons but no more than any other car out there.
